Leave the A1 at the Denwick turn off, north of Alnwick. At the top of the slip road, follow the signs for Denwick. After passing through the village, take the right fork sign-posted Longhoughton. If your vehicle is under 12'3” then stay on this road for 3 miles. Approaching Longhoughton you will pass under the low railway-bridge - take the second right turn, sign-posted Boulmer and The Fishing Boat Inn. After four lamp-posts, about 300m, turn left into the first road on the left. Springfield is on the edge of the village. It is a new cul-de-sac of 18 individual houses and there is currently no road sign.
The Northumberland House' is the second house on the left opposite the open space - has red pantiles on the garage roof, a gravel drive, 3 box trees in front of the garage and a red post box near the porch.

The house is situated about 3 miles to the east of the A1, 30 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne that is accessed easily from the south by the A1; the east by the A19, the west by the A69 and the north by the A1, A68 & A697.
